Pannam Imaging, a Cleveland, Ohio manufacturer of custom membrane switches for the commercial, medical and industrial markets announced that it has earned ISO 9001:2008 certification from Perry Johnson Registrars.

ISO 9000 is a series of quality management systems standards created by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), a federation of 132 national standards bodies based in Geneva, Switzerland. The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) is the member body representing the United States.

The newly created ISO 9001:2008, the most comprehensive Standard in the ISO series, covers design, manufacturing and, most importantly, customer focus. ISO 9001:2008 consists of five major clauses containing 23 elements:

  1. Quality Management Systems (2 elements)
  2. Management Responsibility (6 elements)
  3. Resource Management (4 elements)
  4. Product Realization (6 elements)
  5. Measurement, Analysis and Improvement (5 elements)

"The design and production of membrane switches is a very complex business with many variables," says Mike Rish, Chief Operating Officer. "Preparing for the registration process and earning the registration significantly improved the quality of our products, increased our efficiency and decreased the costs to manufacture our membrane switches. We are very pleased to have earned this registration and are very proud of every employee who worked to meet the requirements necessary for registration."
